Spokane Valley is a city in Spokane County, east of Spokane and west of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It lies along the Spokane River, which flows from Lake Coeur d’Alene toward the Columbia River. The city incorporated on March 31, 2003, combining Opportunity, Dishman, Veradale, Trentwood, Greenacres and other communities.

Interstate 90 serves the city at exits 285 to 293, and Sprague Avenue carries the I-90 business route. Spokane International Airport is about 16 miles west, and Felts Field, a general aviation airport, borders the city.

Spokane Valley hosts the Spokane County Interstate Fair and Valleyfest, held each September at Mirabeau Point Park, and is home to the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum in the historic Opportunity Township Hall. Mirabeau Point Park connects to the Spokane River Centennial Trail, and the Dishman Hills Natural Area sits at the city’s western edge.
